President of the United States reiterated the promise that Ukraine will join NATO

The Russian President, Vladimir Putin“already lost the war” in Ukraine and the current Ukrainian counter-offensive to reconquer territories taken by the Russia in nearly 17 months of war will force him to negotiate. This statement was made this Thursday, 13, by the president of the USA, Joe Biden. Putin “could end the war tomorrow, he would just have to say, ‘I stop,'” Biden said during a visit to the Finland to commemorate the recent accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) of the Nordic country, which borders Russia. “But there is no chance of [Putin] winning the war in Ukraine (…). Despite the slow progress of the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the east and south, the American president said he was convinced that Moscow would eventually ask for negotiations. “My hope and expectation is that Ukraine will make significant progress in its offensive and that this will lead to a negotiated solution at some point,” he said. Biden reiterated his promise that Ukraine will eventually join NATO, despite the former Soviet republic’s frustration over its failure to agree on a membership schedule during this week’s Transatlantic Alliance summit in Lithuania. “It is not a question of whether [os ucranianos] join NATO, but to know when they can join and they will join”, he said. Putin warned shortly thereafter that eventual accession “will not improve Ukraine’s security.
