Unemployment Insurance is a benefit that protects workers affiliated with the Unemployment Fund Administrator (AFC)when they are unemployed due to resignation, dismissal or termination of the contract.
All workers affiliated with the AFC have a Individual Unemployment Account (CIC) and, upon becoming unemployed, they can withdraw the money accumulated in that account, through monthly drafts.

It should be noted that Unemployment Insurance is financed by both the employer and the worker, who make a mandatory monthly contribution in different proportions, depending on the type of contract.
How much money do I have in Unemployment Insurance?
Unemployment Insurance affiliates can review their records to find out the amount they have accumulated in their Individual Unemployment Account.
To know the amount you have in your Unemployment Insurance, you must follow the following steps:

What are the requirements to collect Unemployment Insurance?
To collect the Unemployment Insurance it is necessary to meet the following requirements:
Being unemployed and proving it through the settlement, the dismissal letter, the resignation letter, the act of appearance before the Labor Inspection, a certificate from the Labor Inspection or a judicial sentence, as appropriate.
Have a minimum of contributions paid. It is requested to have at least 12 contributions, continuous or discontinuous, in case of having had an indefinite contract or as a private home worker. In case of having had a fixed-term contract or for work, work or service, at least six continuous or discontinuous contributions are required. The contributions are counted from the affiliation or from the last payment of the Insurance until the month of termination of the employment relationship. Quotes can be from one or more employers.
