Casey Stoner has always been a very peculiar person. He was in his pilot stage and still is once retired. He never minced words to criticize what he considered appropriate and now the Australian’s harsh criticism has fallen on MotoGP.

The ’27’, confirming that he is much better from the chronic fatigue he has suffered in recent years, went to the Goodwood exhibition to get on and do a few laps on the Ducati with which he was champion in 2007.

And there he spoke to the media and began to poke current MotoGP: “I’m happy to see all the people again after a few years. I missed them, but not the championship. Everyone knows the problems I have with the championship, what I like and what I don’t”.

When asked why he would change the competition, Stoner was even more forceful: “I would make some changes to the format. All that bullshit has to go: fins, no hole-shot, no wheelie control and traction control. to a minimum. Costs have to come down and the rules have to last for ten years so that the losing manufacturers can catch up.”

“Each bike needs its strengths and weaknesses so that the competition is balanced, but at the moment everyone is copying the best (Ducati), so they are all evolving in the same direction,” he explained.

The Australian’s harsh opinion was also mixed with frustration at what he sees right now in MotoGP: “Today the bikes don’t rear up or wheelie. The rider hardly has a problem controlling the bike. He just hits the gas and nothing happens. That’s frustrating. As much as I love racing, this development disappoints me.”

“We have more electronics than Formula 1. That has to stop,” Stoner concluded.
