The young evangelical Ingred Silveira, an anti-feminist influencer, shared a video of a mother who reported her experience with the interruption of a pregnancy when she was 22 years old, and stated that the lies of this ideology have led women to death.
In the video, an unidentified woman shares her private experience at what appears to be a rally and claims that she believed what she was told about terminating her pregnancy, and the following facts were completely opposite:
“At 22 I was convinced that it wouldn’t hurt, that I would be fine, that I would fix what was broken, that it was a baby that I wouldn’t have the time, money and resources, or emotional stability to carry forward. And all of that was a lie,” says the woman.
The dramatic account is full of details: “I went home and I was in mourning, alone, because I knew I was ashamed of what I had done. So, I lay down on my bathroom floor and picked up the pieces of my baby’s body from inside the toilet. So, tell me, did that ’empower’ me?”, he asks.
“Tell me if a woman lying on her bathroom floor, realizing what she’s just done, and picking pieces out of a vase, trying to tell if it was a heart, an arm, knowing it was her baby… Tell me if this it’s ’empowerment,’” adds the mother.
Faced with the report of this grieving mother, Ingred points out that the feminist’s entire argument involves the relativization of importance of helpless lives:
“I believe that in our century nothing has killed as many women as feminists themselves. Feminism teaches women that adversity, career, money, all of this is above life, that’s why they use a lot of those phrases ‘if you don’t have money, abort’; ‘if you don’t have psychology, abort’; everything is above life. AND something completely trivialized’”.
“Women are taught that this is ’empowerment’, but when they come to the consequences of abortion, which are depression, self-medication, drug use, it’s not feminists who are there to offer you a hand. Most of the time it is the Church that does this. If you are a woman and you are thinking about having an abortion because of your conditions or abandonment, whatever it is, do not let yourself be influenced by these satan ideologies”, opposes the young conservative influencer.
In the end, one appeal: “Look for help in Jesus and in the Church, because we are willing to help you so that your child will be safe and healthy, together with you. The truly ’empowered’ woman does not shy away from her responsibilities. She lays down her own life for her children, and does not take their lives. Feminism is a disgrace and does not represent me.”
