Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: The Traffic Directorate of Dohuk Governorate reported, on Saturday, the death of four people from one family, in a terrible traffic accident that occurred on a road linking Dohuk and Nineveh Governorate.
A statement said that a violent accident occurred this morning on the Baadari-Badriya road, adding that the four victims were members of one family, two men, a woman and a child.
He explained that the accident was caused by a collision between a private car, a Kia Rio, and a truck.
And the large number of traffic accidents in Iraq is a common problem due to the weak infrastructure and there is a lack of maintenance and necessary updates for the roads, which leads to the emergence of gaps and defects, and the traffic signals are unclear or non-existent at all.
There is also a lack of traffic training and awareness in Iraq, and drivers do not abide by traffic rules and drive in safe ways, including exceeding the permitted speed, lame driving, and disrespecting traffic lights.
