With screenings of award-winning short and feature films, the 14th Zagoriwood is also supporting its film workshops this year.
All screenings are held with free entry in the central square of Kato Pedina in Zagorochoria, a village which is also the base of Zagoriwood, starting at 9.30 in the evening.
The opening is today Saturday with “Good Boss” (Spain, 2021, 120′) by Fernando Leon de Aranoa, where Javier Bardem stars in the role of a factory owner, who tries to solve the problems of the factory one by one of his business, in a bid to win some major business awards. A politically apt satire, which made a sensation among the Greek public, selling more than 55,000 tickets in cinemas.
Tomorrow Sunday, the day is dedicated to Greek short films. The audience will watch “5 pm Seaside” by Valentin Steiskal, which won the grand prize (Golden Dionysus) at the last International Festival of Short Dramas, the fantastic “Sluts” by Despina Mavridou, recently named the best student short of of the year at the Iris Awards (Hellenic Film Academy), the moving pseudo-documentary “Tokakis or What’s My Name” by Thanasis Tokakis and the “Under the Lake” by Thanasis Troumboukis, shot in Tzoumerka.
