The high temperatures that are registered in Italy put 16 cities in the European country on a “red alert” this Saturday, which are in the “maximum level of risk for the populationaccording to government spokesmen.
In addition to the cities of Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Campobasso, Catania, Civitavecchia, Florence, Frosinone, Latina, Messina, Perugia, time.news, Rieti, Rome and Viterbo, already included in that risk category, Palermo is also being analyzed.

“The ‘African heat’ wave, the third this summer, is exceptional and could break some historical records in some cities, such as Rome,” said Antonio Sano, founder of the meteorology site www.iLMeteo.it .

The capital of Italy in June 2022 registered the record figure of 40.7 degrees and in 2007 the measure was 40.5. This values could be overcome already this Monday the 17th when 41 are expected or Tuesday when 43 are expected.
The temperatures will also register exceptional values for the rest of Italy, with the 44 degrees experienced by residents in Foggia, Agrigento, Oristano, 45 in Siracusa and 40 in Florence.
The escalation of temperatures will continue at least until next Wednesday in the center-south of the country, the meteorologists anticipated, while in the north experienced a slight decline.
