Two Hospitalized Following Crash on I-75 in Miami County

TIPP CITY — Two individuals have been hospitalized following a crash on Interstate 75 in Miami County on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) dispatchers, troopers and medics were dispatched to Southbound I-75 near State Route 571 around 2:36 p.m. in response to initial reports of a crash.

Medics transported two people to Upper Valley Medical Center with unknown injuries.

News Center 7 was informed by dispatchers that a truck hauling a trailer on Southbound I-75 lost control and crashed into the retaining wall. As a result, the barrier was blown out and chunks of concrete were scattered on the left two lanes of Northbound I-75.

The left lanes of both Southbound and Northbound I-75 remained closed while crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) made repairs to the barrier walls, as confirmed by OSHP.

Fortunately, the center and right lanes of the highway are open to traffic.

This is an ongoing story, and updates will be provided as it develops.
