Abu Dhabi: The UAE is ready to welcome the New Year. Abu Dhabi Police have advised the public to take safety precautions. The 40-minute fireworks display will take place today (December 31) at 12 midnight at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al-Watba, Abu Dhabi.

Security officials and the National Ambulance Team are ready to deal with any disaster. A total of 14 emergency vehicles have been deployed to the northern emirates of Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Quwan, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah alone.
