Five trees in buckets provide additional shade in the center of Zell. The greening should increase the quality of stay.
A new look is shown in the city center. With a 50 percent subsidy from the tourism infrastructure program, the city was able to implement greening. According to the city administration, five large-format and easy-care trees now provide additional shade on Schönauer Straße on hot days and invite people to linger.
The trees in transportable buckets, which were manufactured by the regional supplier Egle Maschinenbau, required no digging or civil engineering work. “With a manageable investment of 13,200 euros, the central street could be clearly upgraded with the statically and traffic-tested greening,” Mayor Palme is quoted as saying. The tree tubs, which weigh around 800 kilos, are based on the city’s new corporate design and previous green elements, so that a uniform image is retained. “A big thank you again goes to our depot, which cares for the green giants and keeps them in shape,” says Palme. He is looking forward to an early expansion of the inner city greenery and possible additional outdoor gastronomy. “We hope that the offer will be positively received by our restaurateurs and that it will soon be possible to dine under the lush greenery.”
