Action to fit new valve to cooking gas cylinders

by time news

Colombo (News 1st) It has been decided to replace the existing valves in all cooking gas cylinders and install new valves.

The cooking gas companies made this statement after a discussion with the Minister of Consumer Protection Lasantha Alagiyawanna yesterday (29).

The discussion was attended by the Controller General of Imports and Exports, the Director General of Customs, the Chairman of the Consumer Affairs Authority and the Secretary to the Ministry of Technology.

Gas companies say there is currently a shortage of cooking gas on the market due to measures to fit new brackets on cooking gas cylinders.

However, the Consumer Affairs Authority has asked both companies to distribute the gas cylinders to consumers as soon as possible.

Discussions also focused on the steps to be taken by the Sri Lanka Command Authority to test future imports of gas to Sri Lanka.
