On drought alert since Tuesday, the north of Isère is subject to restrictions on the use of water. A decision linked to a drop in river levels in the first two weeks of July, reports France 3 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. “The water tables have particularly low levels”, specified the prefecture, which evokes a deficit “in precipitation”.
Draining, washing and watering prohibited
Thus, it is forbidden for the inhabitants of the areas concerned, who have swimming pools and spas whose volume is greater than 1 m3, to bring them up to level from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., and to fill or drain them until the end restrictions. The washing of vehicles and the cleaning of facades and roofs are also prohibited, unless they are carried out by professionals.
Finally, residents no longer have the right to water plants and vegetable gardens, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for areas on alert. In areas on heightened alert, the watering of plants is totally prohibited and that of vegetable gardens can only be done between 8 p.m. and 9 a.m.
