Bus destroyed by arson in João Pessoa
According to the Military Police, two armed individuals invaded the 600 bus, which traveled between the neighborhoods of Bessa and Varadouro. During the action, they forced the driver and five passengers to remain in the vehicle, threw bottles containing flammable liquid and set it on fire.
The driver suffered burns over 70% of his body, while the other two passengers were injured after a bus was the target of arson in João Pessoa, Paraíba, on July 18.

Police said there was no robbery attempt and the fire was deliberate.

The police were called to the scene and rescued the three victims, who were taken to the Emergency and Trauma Hospital in João Pessoa. The other two people on board the bus managed to escape before the flames completely consumed the vehicle.
The driver had severe burns over 70% of his body and remains in the Trauma Hospital. He suffered burns to his face, arms and chest. The flames quickly consumed the bus, also affecting the power grid and causing power outages in part of the neighborhood.
Among the injured are also a 27-year-old passenger and a 30-year-old passenger, who suffered minor injuries and were released from the hospital during the early hours of the following day, July 19.
The collective transport service operates normally on the morning of Wednesday, the 19th. No suspects were found by the police.
