The life of Saratov, which is being enlarged by six times, must reach the level of Moscow. Mayor of the city Mikhail Isaev wrote about this on December 31 on Instagram.
According to him, increasing the area of the city was not an end in itself for the authorities.
“We must do everything so that the well-being of citizens grows in proportion to the city. The municipal authorities are working on this every day and will not stop, ”he promised.
As Isaev noted, the Saratov authorities are pursuing an ambitious goal and intend to achieve the level of well-being of Saratov residents, as in the Russian capital. Residents remain the priority for the authorities.
“It is the standard of living of the population that is an indicator of the quality of power and the effectiveness of decisions made,” added the mayor of Saratov.
From January 1, Saratov will increase sixfold and become the second largest city in Russia with 2.4 thousand square kilometers. This will happen due to the joining of almost 80 villages to the city. The population of Saratov will be about 900 thousand people.
For residents of the annexed villages, rural benefits will remain, while the social infrastructure will not be reduced.
On August 31, it was reported that the borders of Lipetsk were expanded due to the annexation of the territory of 184 hectares, which previously belonged to the Butyrka Village Council.
