Back in his Pyrenean lands, the pianist David Fray created “L’Offrande musicale”, a brilliant festival (Renaud Capuçon as guest-star of the 3rd edition) and sensitive to disability.

The Musical Offering is a work from the end of Johann Sebastian Bach’s life, built on a theme submitted by Frederick II of Prussia to put it to the test. The Leipzig cantor composed a pinnacle of the art of counterpoint, including fugues, ricercari (baroque ancestor of the fugue) and canons. Offered to the sovereign, the score is above all a gift to humanity, a treasure cherished by anyone who places spirit above matter.

More anecdotally, The Musical Offering is also a collection of texts by the late André Tubeuf brought together for the Bouquins collection. A transmitter of emotions, with a style well known to readers of Point, André nurtured almost amorous passions for certain musicians.
