The Public Ministry (MP), through a document addressed to the Registry of Citizens, of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), signed by the prosecutor Leonor Eugenia Morales Lazo, requested that it be reported within a maximum period of two hours if the court order to provisionally suspend Movimiento Semilla was complied with.

Perspective Writing

In addition, it is noted that there is no pending resolution that prevents compliance with the court order.

According to local media, the head of the FECI, Rafael Curruchiche, indicated that as a result of this, it will be analyzed whether or not to request a pre-trial order against the director of the Citizens’ Registry, Ramiro Muñoz, who, according to what was known, requested a vacation from the TSE and left the country.

According to the document, the required information must be delivered to the headquarters of the Special Prosecutor’s Office against Impunity (FECI), located at 15 avenue 15-16 zone 1 Barrio Gerona, City, 4 Level.

THE CASE AGAINST SEED

The MP reported that it conducted an investigation after receiving a complaint in July 2022, where a citizen claims to have been illegally affiliated with the Movimiento Semilla party. In this sense, it was determined that the handwriting and signature on the adhesion documents were falsified.

Curruchiche previously said that it was discovered that more than 5,000 citizens could have been illegally affiliated to Semilla through the falsification of documents. In addition, at least 12 deceased people were registered in the political party.

The investigations revealed that Semilla would have paid Q7 for each signature collected, which adds up to approximately Q175 thousand, without knowing the source of financing.

It should be noted that this afternoon it was learned that Judge Fredy Orellana of the Seventh Criminal Court A issued two arrest warrants against Cinthya Rojas Donis and Jaime Gudiel Arias for the possible commission of the crimes of ideological falsehood with continuous electoral aggravation and illicit association.
