The parliamentarians of the Legislative Assembly with 78 votes declared that the Day of the Salvadoran Mathematician be commemorated on March 14 of each year.
This is due to recognize the work of those who are dedicated to teaching mathematical sciences, an essential component in fields such as artificial intelligence, climate change, energy and sustainable development.
In addition, parliamentarians consider it meritorious and fair to recognize professionals in mathematics, since they form a transversal axis to contribute and specify solutions, through mathematical models, to problems typical of developed and developing societies.
“I am proud of the fact that the administration of President Nayib Bukele is giving education the importance it has always deserved. We come from a deplorable system, because previous governments only stole money,” said the official Ana Figueroa.
