Celebrating Friend’s Day with an outing for dinner or lunch will cost about 80% more expensive than for the same day last year and, at the same time, about 80% of the places for that celebration are already reserved. This, according to the data given by the owners and managers of bars, restaurants and cafes, where they serve different dishes. And although at first glance the price increase is quite significant, it is less than year-on-year inflation of 115.6%. According to what they commented, the price per person will go from $2,000 to $6,000, as some will do promotions and set menus, while others will work “open letter.”

As in the previous one of every July 20, in the gastronomic establishments there is a climate of optimism due to the level of reservations. It is that there are people who asked that a table be saved for them more than a week ago and that augurs a great day for the sector. This is why for tomorrow these places are already finalizing details. They said that the 80% average reservation is mainly for the night and they commented that there is a great variety of prices, so that all San Juan residents can celebrate.

the festivities began in advance. From some gastronomic places they said that although the meetings will be concentrated tomorrow, there have been celebrations for days. They even commented that there are already many reservations made for next weekend.

Octavio Costabile is the owner of Santa Margherita and commented that they will have proposals for the night and for noon. And that, like other years, for lunch they will have a fixed menu, which will be close to $3,500 and includes a starter, a main course and a dessert. Last year, that same proposal cost $1,900. While for the night, they will work with an open letter, so that diners can buy what they want. In the same vein, from Alfonsina y el Bar, another San Juan local, they said that they will have 2-for-1 promotions on beers and pizzas, so two people can eat and drink a beer for about $4,000 (that is, $2,000 per person). “We will also have other dishes and with other costs,” said Ariel Gómez, in charge of this place.

The offer of menus and prices is very varied, depending on the premises. And from all the bars and restaurants consulted and according to what many colleagues share through their social networks (many bars openly display their updated menus), eating a pizza with beer is the cheapest option when it comes to going out.

In this sense, from Rogger they said that they calculate that an average ticket is $2,500 pesos, while from El Palacio de la Milanesa, according to the letter that was shared by the managers themselves, a person can spend between $3,000 and $4,000 on a personal Milanese and a small drink. These costs, in this location and in others, may vary when ordering other dishes, such as pasta or a table to share. And they can get more expensive if you add drinks or more drinks, since drinks cost, on average, $1,500 each. “We are almost full of reservations. We will have several options for dishes, but with a show included, consumption per person will be between $5,000 and $6,000,” added Renzo Rodríguez, owner of Tierras Negras.
