Miami Mother Arrested for Attempting to Hire Hitman to Kill 3-Year-Old Son

Miami, FL – An 18-year-old Miami woman is facing charges of solicitation of murder and unlawful use of a communications device after allegedly attempting to hire a hitman to kill her own 3-year-old son. The shocking incident came to light when the woman visited a parody hit-for-hire website, unknowingly designed to assist law enforcement in catching criminals.

According to a police report from the Miami-Dade County, the woman expressed her desire to have her son “taken away, far, far, far away and possibly be killed but ASAP.” She was even willing to pay $3,000 to ensure the job was done. The report stated that she wanted to “get something done once and for all.”

The woman provided the hitman website with her son’s grandmother’s address, a recent photo of the child, and her own phone number during her contact with the website. However, unbeknownst to her, the website was operated by an individual who promptly contacted the Miami-Dade police upon seeing the disturbing request.

Detectives quickly tracked down the woman on Tuesday, using the IP address and phone number provided through the website. The child’s grandmother confirmed to police that the woman had moved out in May, and the child had been living with her ever since. The grandmother also revealed that her daughter would regularly FaceTime the child.

The grandmother further disclosed that she had taken the photo of the boy, which was subsequently posted on the hitman website, and sent it to her daughter just one day before the arrest. The child’s mother was later apprehended at her father’s house, where she had been staying.

Although she confessed to the crime, the full statement was redacted from the release of the arrest report to news organizations. The woman appeared before Miami-Dade County Judge Mindy Glazer, where she denied ever receiving treatment for any mental health condition. The judge set bond at $15,000, and the woman was released from jail on Thursday.

Judge Glazer explicitly forbade the woman from contacting her son, who will continue to reside with his grandmother. The woman is being represented by the public defender’s office, which has yet to respond to media inquiries.

The shocking nature of this crime has left the community in disbelief, as thoughts turn to the welfare and safety of the young boy. Authorities are working closely with the child’s grandmother to ensure his ongoing protection, while investigations into the woman’s motives and state of mind are expected to continue.
