The Colombian singer Shakira rose this Thursday as the top winner of the twentieth edition of the Premios Juventud in Puerto Rico after receiving eight awards.
“This island that I adore and meeting all of you and receiving all of this, truly thank you,” declared the artist, dressed in a red dress and heels before the packed Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan.
Shakira also sent a message of thanks to all her followers, emphasizing that they are her “greatest luck.”
“They accompany me in all my joys, they accompany me in all my struggles, and for you I want to be a better musician, the best artist and, if possible, the best person,” said the singer, adding that “there should be an award for the fans.”
“They are the best fans in the world, I love them, I will always love them,” stressed the Colombian.
The Colombian singer received the award for Best Pop/Urban Song for her song “Shakira: BZRP Music Sessions #53”, and also won the prizes for Artist Premios Juventud Femenina, Best Song for My Ex (for her song TQG), Girl Power (TQG), Best Urban Track (TQG), Best Song, Best Urban Pop Collaboration, Tropical Mix and Social Dance Challenge.
Shakira also received the “Change Agent” award for her extensive work transforming communities for 23 years through her Pies Descalzos Foundation.
The Colombian singer has won a total of 23 Premios Juventud, making her the artist with the most awards in the award’s history.
