Deputy Minister of Digital Development Maxim Parshin, who is involved in a criminal case on taking a bribe on an especially large scale, was fired from his post. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“Release Parshin Maxim Viktorovich from the post of Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation at his request”, – says in a document published on the official portal of regulatory legal acts.

On July 13, the court placed Parshin under house arrest until September 12.

Parshin is charged with Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – taking a bribe by an official on an especially large scale. The maximum punishment for it is 15 years in prison, as well as a fine of up to one hundred times the amount of the bribe with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 15 years.
