Regardless of whether it is an injury or an illness: (a lot of) blood is often required for an operation or treatment. As natural as it is for everyone to be helped with blood supplies, the willingness to make this supply possible in the first place is strikingly low. Below are the blood donation dates in the Neuwied district for August.

district of Neuwied. What many people are not aware of: despite modern medicine, blood cannot be produced artificially! Therefore, many patients are dependent on those who give their blood – out of conviction. Only a constant supply of blood donations allows the blood donation services to be able to help immediately in crisis situations, such as the DRK unfortunately had to experience at the beginning of the year. Hence the DRK’s appeal: “Please donate blood regularly!”
The advantages for you as a donor: You have a constant health check. Among other things, blood pressure and body temperature are measured. The blood is then examined for infections such as HIV, syphilis or hepatitis.
Requirements:
Age: 18 to 75 years (first time donors up to 68)
Weight: over 50 kilograms
Distance to previous blood donation: 56 days
Preparation: drink at least 1.5 liters and eat enough
Bring ID with you: ID card, driving license or passport

Promotion: Anyone who comes to the Neuwied Zoo to donate blood (28th and 29th August) will receive a free zoo ticket for the day of the donation.
