Pastor Augustus Nicodemus is recovering well from the heart surgery he underwent last Friday, July 21st. The family used their Instagram profile to communicate the success of the procedure.
During the last week, Nicodemus communicated to his followers on social networks that he would undergo a surgery called ablation, used to correct areas of the heart that were emitting irregular electrical signals, which caused “a very strong arrhythmia”.
This heart problem prevented him from preaching in his congregation, the First Presbyterian Church of Recife. Doctors advised the procedure, and Augustus Nicodemus chose to do it so that the situation would not get worse.
“We thank everyone for their prayers. The medical procedure that Rev. Augustus passed this morning was a success. Soon, he will be discharged and will be resting for a period”, says the publication on Instagram, with a photo of the pastor next to his wife.
In the comments, many of the pastor’s followers expressed relief and satisfaction at the news: “Get well, pastor! Take care of your health! We really need you and your teachings!”, Wrote a follower.
Pastor Arival Dias Casimirio, from the Presbyterian Church of Pinheiros, in São Paulo, also estimated improvements: “God continue to bless”, he wrote, adding an emoji that symbolizes gratitude.
“Much health to Mr. Rv. Augustus, the Brazilian church still needs you a lot, may everything go well for you today and for the next, good recovery!”, commented another user of the Instagram.
