You don’t realize it immediately when you leave the Athens International Airport terminal. It’s hot, very hot, but our late arrival — 11:30 p.m. this Wednesday evening — slightly skews the situation. The thermometer reads 32°C and, already, the air conditioning of the taxi in which we rush is a deliverance. Yet we have yet to see or rather, feel nothing of what awaits us over the next 24 hours.
