Borderlands is an action video game franchise with a characteristic cartoon touch, but those who have played its titles will quickly recognize its acid sense of humor. Although it has had its ups and downs, it’s a pretty freaky franchise, and that’s why there’s some expectation about what the live-action film adaptation will be like. Although there is no trailer to see at the moment, there is a release date: August 9, 2024 in the US.

Shooting for the movie apparently wrapped in June 2021, but for some reason it hasn’t made it out of post-production yet. Perhaps, like many other films, to see if the public returns to the theaters so as not to make a premiere that ends in a disaster at the box office. Or perhaps because they have to review the special effects, which is also fashionable.

A preview of what to expect from the film was shown last year, but there hasn’t been a trailer. The film will focus on the main characters of the franchise: Roland (Kevin Hart), Tina Chiquitina (Arian Greenblatt), Krieg (Florian Munteanu), Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Claptrap (Jack Black). They will have to find the lost daughter of Atlas (Edgar Ramírez), and there will be other important characters in the franchise, such as Lilith (Cate Blanchett), Moxxi (Gina Gershon), although they have created characters like Commander Knoxx (Janina Gavankar), daughter of General Knoxx, and who is more welcome than the fact that they change the general’s sex.
