In the podcast “Agro e Prosa”, the agronomist and partner of the company Bio Processos Fertilizantes, Gaspar José Zawatski, was the guest of journalist Divino Onaldo to talk about the company’s innovative approach in transforming waste into sustainable solutions for agriculture.
During the interview, Gaspar explained that Bio Processos Fertilizantes was founded in response to a specific demand: the need to sell the poultry litter produced in large volumes in the regions of Rio Verde. The accumulation of this residue represented a challenge for the local poultry industry, and that’s when the idea of transforming it into sustainable fertilizer began to take shape.
“We started looking for research so that chicken litter could be used as a substitute for chemical fertilizers, and, thanks to the effort and dedication, we were able to move in that direction. Initially, we focused on creating an organic fertilizer from chicken litter”, said Gaspar.
During the process, the company expanded its operations beyond chicken litter, starting to transform other agro-industrial residues into value-added fertilizers. The Bio Processos Fertilizantes team worked together with researchers from the University of Rio Verde (UNIRV) to achieve the formulation of a fertilizer that met the needs of farmers in terms of fundamental nutrients (NPK).
“We managed to create a nutrient base with NPK in a very interesting way, which allowed us to offer a fertilizer with added value to the producer. In addition, our process ended up becoming an environmental service, because, by using industrial waste, we contribute to reducing impacts on the environment”, explained Gaspar.
Throughout the interview, he highlighted his satisfaction in contributing to sustainable solutions for modern agriculture, both for producers and for the environment. The trajectory of Bio Processos Fertilizantes was marked by challenges, but with determination and success, the company managed to establish itself as a reference in the production of innovative and ecologically responsible fertilizers.
