In the central park that represents the history and traditions of their people, the people of Guanajay commemorated this morning the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks in Santiago de Cuba.

During the act, the challenges of the young generation that left for the East of the country in 1953, including a large group of Artemisa residents, were recognized. Likewise, the commitment of the revolutionaries in the face of obstacles and difficulties was ratified: none will prevent Cuba from moving forward and preserving its sovereignty.

A group of comrades received the card that accredits them as Party members from Frank Fleitas, a member of the Provincial Bureau in Artemisa, and Risleydis González, First Secretary in Guanajay. Their qualities and conditions make them worthy of such a high distinction.

“Firm to our traditions of struggle, our people have shown the ability to resist the empire. The response to the proposals of the voters, electronic commerce, the development of companies and new economic actors, the revival of neighborhoods in transformation and the commitment to maintain the conquests of the Revolution, are proof of this,” acknowledged Risleydis González.

The party leader in Villa Blanca also recognized the challenges of the territory, mainly in culture and vital services to the population. She also insisted on solutions and strategies for the recovery of sectors such as electricity.

«These are not easy times and we have to appeal to unity and history. If the people of Guanajay yesterday did not fail Fidel and the Homeland, those of today will not either”, he concluded.
