Mortgage credit in the country expanded 5.2% last June compared to the same month of the previous year, while in monthly terms it advanced 0.5% compared to May of this year, the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCR) highlighted today.
The issuing entity reported that this result was favored by mortgage loans in soles, which expanded 6.2% year-on-year in June. Compared to May of this year, mortgage loans in soles grew by 0.6%.
Likewise, he pointed out that the preference for borrowing in national currency for the purchase of homes is maintained.
The BCR indicated that the dollarization of mortgage credit stood at 8.5% in June 2023, lower by 0.1 percentage points compared to May of this year and 0.8 percentage points less than a year ago.
