Assault at Rock the South Music Festival Sparks Investigation, $10,000 Reward Offered

CULLMAN, AL – Cullman police are currently seeking information to identify individuals involved in an assault that took place during the Rock the South music festival on Saturday night. The incident sent at least one man to the hospital with severe injuries.

In response to the assault, event organizers have announced a reward of $10,000 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. Additionally, the reward includes lifetime tickets to the festival.

The Cullman Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident and encourages anyone with relevant information to come forward. The department referred AL.com to a statement posted on their Facebook page, which confirms their awareness of the assault and states that an official report has been filed.

“We are relying on the public’s assistance in identifying those involved,” the statement reads.

The victim’s mother, Kaci Howard, took to Facebook to plea for help in finding the “cowards” who assaulted her son. She described the brutal attack, explaining that her son was beaten unconscious by several grown men while his girlfriend desperately screamed and cried for help. Howard expressed her shock and emphasized that her son, Reid, was a good-natured individual who did not deserve such treatment. She urged the public to share her post and help bring the culprits to justice.

According to Howard’s description, one of the attackers had long curly hair, wore a red, white, and blue hat, stood at about 6 feet tall, and sported a white shirt. Unfortunately, she could not provide detailed descriptions of the others involved in the assault.

Video footage of the incident was uploaded to Facebook, providing potential leads for investigators. Howard requested that anyone who recognizes the assailants contact either her or the Cullman Police Department.

Laura Quick, wife of festival founder Shane Quick, confirmed the substantial reward and offered her support in bringing the culprits to justice. She revealed that in addition to the $10,000 reward, lifetime tickets to the Rock the South festival would be given to anyone providing information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

The Rock the South music festival, featuring 16 acts over a three-night period, including headliners Chris Stapleton, Riley Green, and Zach Bryan, attracted a record-breaking crowd this year. Shane Quick, addressing the attendees on the final night, proudly announced that the festival had achieved the largest turnout in its history, with individuals from 13 countries and representatives from all 50 states.

Anyone who witnessed the assault or possesses information related to the incident is urged to contact the Cullman Police Department at 256-734-1434. The police department is eager to receive any leads that could help bring justice to the victim and ensure the safety of future festival attendees.
