Météo-France has placed nine departments of the Center-East on orange vigilance for the risk of thunderstorms on the night of Sunday July 23 to Monday July 24 as well as Monday morning. In Haute-Loire, Loire, Rhône, Ain, Haute-Savoie, Savoie, Isère, Drôme and Ardèche, “the thunderstorms will be occasionally strong accompanied by hail, strong gusts of wind, strong rainfall intensities and significant electrical activity”, according to the weather report published Sunday afternoon.
Three other departments (the two in Corsica and the Alpes-Maritimes) have also been placed on orange vigilance for a heat wave due to a notable heat peak requiring special attention for sensitive or exposed people.
