Development in the case of the shooting at the club in Haifa: A 26-year-old resident of Acre was arrested today (Saturday) at Ben Gurion Airport while he was suspected of trying to flee the country.

As a result of the security guard’s shooting, one of the two suspects was fatally injured and was taken to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, while the other suspect involved in the incident fled the scene using a scooter.

Following an assessment of the situation of the Coast District Commander, Superintendent Yoram Sofer, the investigation was assigned to the crime fighting unit (ILP) of Merhav Asher and yesterday after investigating, Ben Gurion Airport police arrested the other suspect involved in the shooting.

As stated, the suspect was apprehended at the airport when, according to the suspicion, he tried to flee the country and was taken for questioning at the YLP Asher offices. Depending on the development of the investigation and its findings, the police will decide whether to ask tonight to extend the suspect’s detention in the Magistrate’s Court in Haifa.
