He Public ministry of Dubai informed this Sunday to the residents of the sanctions for falsify or reproduce a credit card o debit. Through a post on his account social networksthe authority listed the penalties for falsifying any electronic means of payment using any technological means or computer program.
according to a Federal decree on the fight against rumors and cybercrime, any person who falsifies, creates false copies or illegally uses the data or information of a credit or debit card, or any other electronic payment tool that uses information technology (IT) or any other tool information technology, shall be subject to imprisonment and a fine of not less than 500,000 dirhams and not more than 2 million of dirhams, or one of the two penalties.
According to the UAE Public Prosecutor, whoever falsifies electronic documents will be prosecuted in accordance with Article 14 of Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021. Whoever falsifies any of the electronic documents of the federal or local government, or federal or local public authorities or organizations will be sentenced to temporary imprisonment and/or a fine between Dh150,000 and Dh750,000.
In the case of falsification of documents of any entity not mentioned above, the penalty will be arrest and/or a fine of between 100,000 and 300,000 dirhams.
The dubai police has warned the public against illegal access to the information systems of state institutions. According to article 3 of the UAE Federal Decree No. 34 of 2021 to combat rumors and cybercrimes, the offense is punishable by a prison temporary and a minimum fine of 200,000 dirhams that can go up to 500,000 dirhams. According to the law, any person who improperly access a websiteelectronic information system, information network or any means of information technology belonging to the institutions of the state.
