In the first half of 2023, salaries offered increased by 13 percent, the press service of the cvkeskus.ee portal told BNS on Monday, according to statistics from which the average range of gross salaries offered in job advertisements in the first half of the year was 1481-1947 euros, which is 13% more than in 2022. Compared to the first quarter of 2023, in the second quarter, the growth rate of wage offers did not change.

In the first half of 2023, the average salary range in job offers for senior professionals and middle managers was 2170-2728 euros. The average salary offered to mid-level professionals and office workers was 1724–2461 euros, and to skilled workers and professional specialists 1471–1908 euros. The amount of wages offered to workers in the service and trade sectors started from 1089 euros and reached 1414 euros.

“Over the year, the fastest growth in wages was observed in job offers for top-level professionals, where it reached as much as 17%,” Grete Adler, Head of Recruitment at cvkeskus.ee, described the latest trends in the labor market.

“Wages indicated in job offers for mid-level professionals and other office workers increased by 12%, and for service and trade workers by 9%. Significantly less than in other job groups, the wages offered to auxiliary workers have increased. Its growth in the first half of the year amounted to 6%. The increase in wages offered to skilled workers was also quite modest, reaching 7% in a year,” added Grete Adler.

Sectorally, wages offered increased the most in finance (+18%), banking (+18%), telecommunications (+17%), and education and science (+17%). Wage proposals in the public sector also grew faster than average, having increased by 15% over the year.

The decrease in the offered wages in the first half of the year was noted in the areas of construction (-7%) and tourism (-10%).

Geographically, wage offers grew faster than the average in Western Estonia (including Pärnu), increasing by 17% over the year. The increase in wages offered in the capital was 14%, in Tartu 12%, in the counties of Central Estonia 10% and in Eastern Estonia 9%.

CVKeskus.ee is the main job search channel in Estonia with the largest selection of job offers. At the moment, more than 3,000 job offers have been published on the cvkeskus.ee portal, every third of which contains a salary.

As a salary offer, employers mainly give a range of salaries, and not a specific figure, since in addition to the basic salary, additional payments also affect the proposed salary. In addition, the actual job responsibilities are determined according to the skills and experience of the hired worker, which also affects the terms of remuneration.
