After the Public Ministry pointed out up to five arguments for which there is a risk of escape from Sada Goay, the businesswoman’s lawyer, José Orrego, replied to the allegations and pointed out that his client does have family roots, although one of the alleged evidence that he presented before the Eighth Preparatory Investigation Court drew attention.
The Prosecutor’s Office pointed out this morning that Goray Chong does not have labor roots in Peru because he renounced his participation in the Marka Group company and that the assets he had, his home on Av. Golf Los Inkas, Surco, is not in his name, but in a trust. Regarding family roots, the Public Ministry indicated that this is relative.
In this regard, lawyer José Orrego began by saying that Goray’s mother is an adult over 68 years of age who lives in the Surco house together with the businesswoman’s two children and that her client expects to continue living in said property and “rebuild her life.” In addition, he continued, her children have guaranteed vacancies in a school in Lima to continue their studies this year.
Moments later, the lawyer mentioned a new argument linked to the social life of the businesswoman. “Mrs. Sada Goray, her mother and her children are associates of the El Bosque Country Club,” said the law man.
“All these data, Your Honor, we are providing them so that you can see that the lady has an ordinary family life with her mother and her children, that she attends the private club as any citizen can,” he argued. “Therefore, her family life is based in the city of Lima.”
The lawyer told Judge Raúl Justiniano Romero that to demonstrate this argument, he presented the certificate that Sada Goray is an active member of the Country Club El Bosque signed by the general manager of said social entity, as well as the cards of her and her relatives that accredit them as members. “In our way of understanding, these documents prove that Sada Goray has family roots in Peru,” said the lawyer.
