Mysterious Lights Spotted Over Texas Revealed to be SpaceX Rocket Launch

Dallas Fort Worth and San Angelo residents were baffled on Sunday night as they witnessed a series of mysterious lights flying across the sky. Multiple videos captured between 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. showed the lights followed by a cloud of smoke.

One witness, Jennifer Dominguez, shared her experience stating, “Unusual sighting around 9 p.m. It was a clear sky, but this object looked like it had a massive cloud around it. Then, all of a sudden, it shot out beams of light in front of it.”

Curiosity was sparked, and many wondered if these lights were evidence of extraterrestrial activity. However, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had a different explanation.

According to the FAA, the lights were most likely a result of a SpaceX rocket launch that took place in Florida. The launch happened at 7:50 p.m. CT, about 90 minutes before the lights were spotted in Texas.

SpaceX’s website confirmed this, stating that a Falcon 9 rocket carrying 22 Starlink satellites was launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. Notably, this launch marked the sixth successful launch and landing of the Falcon 9 rocket’s first-stage booster.

Interestingly, SpaceX’s Starlink satellites have been responsible for previous mistaken sightings of UFOs. When in orbit, these satellites appear as a train of glowing lights, easily deceiving observers.

Over 700 Starlink satellites have already been deployed by SpaceX, and the company plans to launch an additional 12,000 to facilitate global internet access, particularly in rural areas.

While the mysterious lights witnessed over Texas turned out to have an earthly explanation, the phenomenon served as a reminder of the wonders of space exploration and the advancements being made in satellite technology.
