Vermont State Police are on the lookout for the culprit behind a recent burglary on the film set of “Beetlejuice 2” in East Corinth, Vermont. The stolen item happens to be a significant sculpture, weighing 150 pounds, which was prominently featured in the original 1988 film. Authorities are also investigating the theft of a lamppost adorned with a pumpkin decoration.
The Vermont State Police humorously commented on the situation in a social media post on July 21. Referencing the movie’s plot, they jestingly said, “We tried saying the name of this stolen statue three times, but it didn’t come back!” They continued by appealing to the public for any information regarding the crime, urging them to contact the police at 802-748-3111.
Fans of the original “Beetlejuice” film will recognize the stolen sculpture as one of Delia Deetz’s (played by Catherine O’Hara) creations. The sculpture holds significant sentimental value to the film’s enthusiasts.
Despite this setback, there is excitement surrounding the upcoming sequel, “Beetlejuice 2,” directed by Tim Burton. The film, currently scheduled to release on September 6, 2024, features the return of Michael Keaton in his iconic role as Beetlejuice.
