The Executive Secretary of ARCEP, Mr. Hervé Coovi GUEDEGBE held a working session with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) on Thursday, July 20, 2023. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the level of implementation of measures aimed at facilitating the provision of Internet access and coverage of the entire national territory by ISPs. This meeting also offered ARCEP BENIN the opportunity to take stock of the implementation of their regulatory obligations with the ISPs. In his introductory remarks, the Executive Secretary thanked the Internet service providers for their promptness. He recalled the need for internet coverage throughout the national territory in order to meet the needs of the population. The Internet access providers present at this session in turn expressed their satisfaction with the development of the regulatory framework and the reforms carried out by ARCEP within the framework of the approval of the catalogs of reference offers of the operators of electronic communications networks. On the occasion, ARCEP BENIN presented the results of the control carried out on compliance with the regulatory obligations of Internet access providers and it appears that some ISPs have not complied with their obligations. All in all, the Secretary invited each supplier to respect its regulatory obligations, under penalty of the opening of a sanction procedure for non-respect of these obligations. Note that there are nineteen (19) authorized internet service providers. These are: ABC CORPORATION, AFRICA MOBILE NETWORK-BENIN SARL, AZESAT INTERNATIONAL TELECOM, B NET SARL, CARREFOUR TELECOM ET SERVICES SARL, DATANEO, DEGNON GROUP, EUPHORBIA, FIRSTNET, HELIOS ENERGY SYSTEMS, ISOCEL, JENY SAS, LIGHT TELECOM, OMEGA TECHNOLOGIES, OTI, SBIN SA, SIPI BENIN, SUD T ELECOM and TELEMATICS BENIN
