New Zealand player Ross Taylor retires from international cricket

WELLINGTON: New Zealand cricket team’s leading batsman Ross Taylor. The 37-year-old has also captained the New Zealand team. He made his ODI debut against the West Indies in March 2006 before playing his first Test against South Africa in November 2007.

For New Zealand, Audi has scored 7584 runs in 110 Tests with 19 centuries and 35 fifties, 218 centuries in 233 ODIs, 8581 runs in 51 fifties and 1909 runs in 102 T20s.

He has played for Bangalore, Rajasthan and Delhi in the IPL. He has recently lost form and is stumbling unable to take a run. Thus, there is no place in the T20 and ODI teams.

Ross Taylor has announced his retirement from Test cricket against Bangladesh on home soil. There are 2 Test matches to be played with Bangladesh. This series is the last international match Ross Taylor will play.

In his statement in this regard, he said it was an amazing journey and I feel incredibly lucky to have represented my country as long as I have been.

It was a privilege to play with some of the best players, to play against them and to create so many memories and friendships along the way. But all good things must come to an end, and the time is right for me. Thank you to my family, friends and everyone who helped me get to this point.

Taylor was the first player to play more than 100 matches for New Zealand in all forms of cricket. Taylor is also the highest New Zealand batsman to score (18,074), matches (445) and most centuries (40) in international cricket.
