Valvil Ori Festival Promises Excitement and Cordiality in Kollimalai

Kollimalai, Namakkal district – The much-anticipated Valvil Ori Festival is set to dazzle locals and tourists alike on August 2nd and 3rd. As preparations for the festival reach their peak, organizers have taken steps to ensure a smooth and harmonious event.

One of the main attractions of the Valvil Ori Festival is the garlanding of the statue of Valvil Ori, which is considered to be a sacred ritual. However, in the past, there have been some concerns regarding the allocation of garlanding duties among various organizations. To address this issue, a consultation meeting was held at the Namakkal Assistant Collector’s office yesterday, under the guidance of Assistant Collector Saravanan.

The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials, including Additional Superintendent of Police (Prohibition) Raju, Deputy Superintendent of Police Thanarasu, and administrators from different organizations. During the meeting, each organization was advised on the specific time slot allotted to them for garlanding. This measure ensures that there will be no confusion or conflicts regarding the garlanding process.

In addition, certain guidelines were issued to maintain the sanctity of the festival. It was announced that only vehicles for personal use would be allowed, and the use of rental vehicles would be prohibited. Furthermore, participants were instructed to ascend the hill through Karavalli and descend via the Mulkukurichi Path after garlanding.

As the preparations for the festival gain momentum, other news has also surfaced. Namakkal District Tasmac Manager, Kamalakannan, issued a press release that stated all Tasmac liquor shops in Kollimalai taluk would be closed for three days. This move comes under the instructions of the collector, to uphold the sanctity of the festival. The closure will be in effect from the 1st to the 3rd of August, affecting Tasmac shops in Semmedu, Karavalli, Sengarai, and Solakad.

In the press release, Kamalakannan warned that disciplinary action would be taken against any shop staff found violating the closure guidelines. This measure is deemed necessary to ensure that the festival is observed with the highest regard for tradition and spiritual significance.

The Valvil Ori Festival is expected to be a grand celebration, combining both religious observance and community spirit. Visitors can look forward to witnessing the unique customs and rituals associated with the festival, while enjoying the scenic beauty of Kollimalai. With meticulous planning and the active involvement of various organizations, the festival promises to leave a lasting impression on all who attend.
