The hotel giant is surfing on the strong demand for international travel, as well as major events.

Record results, thanks to exceptionally high rates. Accor had a strong first half, benefiting from the strong recovery in international travel, for leisure and for business. Peaking at 70 euros, the RevPar, a key indicator for the sector, jumped 23% compared to 2019. An exceptional performance due to the surge in room rates by 30%, the occupancy rate of 64% remaining lower by 4 points to its pre-Covid crisis levels.

In this euphoric context, the turnover of the world’s sixth hotel group (Ibis, Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure, Pullman, Raffles, Fairmont, etc.) jumped 39%, to 2.4 billion euros, between January and the end of June. Net income reached 248 million euros, against 32 million a year earlier.

“Turnover, profitability, price… Everything is record, with the exception of the occupancy rate, observes Sébastien Bazin, CEO of Accor. We have strong demand in all countries and for all our brands.”
