Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: The Federal Integrity Commission announced, on Thursday, the issuance of a decision in absentia ruling the imprisonment of a former official in the Baghdad Investment Commission. For his violations committed in granting an investment license.

A statement by the Commission’s Investigation Department, speaking of the case that the Commission investigated and referred to the judiciary, stated that “the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court issued a judgment in absentia that stipulates imprisonment for a period of three years against the secretary of the former head of the Baghdad Investment Commission.”

And the department continued, “The decision issued against the fugitive convict came against the background of the violations that occurred by granting an investment license granted to an investor and a company; To construct a residential complex on plots of land in one of the distinguished locations in the capital, Baghdad.”

And she added, “The court, after examining the evidence and evidence obtained in the case, reached full conviction of the defendant’s negligence, so it decided to convict him and sentence him in absentia to imprisonment for a period of three years. According to the provisions of Article (331) of the Penal Code.”
