New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released Rs 20,900 crore for the 10th installment under the Prime Minister’s Agricultural Subsidy Scheme.
10.09 crore farmers across the country are provided Rs. 6,000 per annum under the Prime Minister’s Agricultural Subsidy Scheme. The funds are ‘deposited’ directly into the farmers’ bank accounts in three installments of Rs. 2,000 each.

The ninth tranche of funds under the scheme was released in August last year. In this context, Prime Minister Modi released Rs. 20,900 crore for the 10th installment. Prime Minister Modi participated in the event via ‘video conference’.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi said: At present the economic growth rate of our country is 8 per cent. By 2021, there will be more than 70 trillion rupees in ‘digital’ transactions. Foreign investment has come in large numbers. More money has been raised through the GST than ever before.
We have grown in exports. India has achieved tremendous growth, especially in the field of agriculture. Efforts should be made to promote natural agriculture. Corona cannot stop the growth of India. India will fight against Corona with full caution and vigilance.
The year 2021 will remind us of India’s strong fight against corona and the reforms taken by the Union Government. The Union Government is focusing on strengthening the country’s medical infrastructure facilities.
The total disbursement to farmers under this scheme has increased to Rs. 1.8 lakh crore.

Shanti: I could not make much profit as the sale was done through an intermediary. Therefore, in 2016-17, with the help of NABARD, we registered and started the Livestock Farmer Producers Company in Veerapandi.

Shanti: The company partner is all female farmers. All the employees, including the CEO and the NABARD Bank executive, are women.
Prime Minister: It is a pleasure to be operated entirely by women. Tell us about your trip!
Shanti: We buy and market products, add value and produce and sell. It is assisted by NABARD, Department of Agriculture, DNRDP, Napkisan, Tamil Nadu Grama Bank, MSDA, Bank of India.
PM: Is there any difference in the marketing of maize?
Shanti: As it is a rainfed variety, we cultivate maize and use it as food and fodder for livestock. It controls sugar and has immunity. Cure joint pain. We are high yielding because it is a traditional food.
