The lucky visitors of the last edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed were amazed when they saw one of the most radical and exclusive motorcycles that have gone through this annual motor festival on the track. The folks at Thornton Hundred Motorcycles were able to overshadow the presence of several MotoGP machines with their latest monster, a 400-hp Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR equipped with active aerodynamics.

Jody Millhouse, owner of Thornton Hundred, was responsible for destroying the eardrums of those present during the outings he made in Goodwood. The bike was finished just a few days before the event was held, ora project that has required seven months of hard work to make the most radical motorcycle ever made by this UK-based tuner a reality.

As Jody has told MCN, “This year we wanted to bring something back to the Festival of Speed that would absolutely capture people’s imaginations and give them something they’ve never seen before.” And of course, the objective has been more than fulfilled.

The bike is, in essence, a Speed Triple 1200 RR, a model that delivers, in its standard configuration, 180 horsepower extracted from its 1160 cc three-cylinder engine. The folks at Thornton Hundred have installed you a Rotrex C30 superchargerand after reinforcing all the internal parts of the engine and changing the exhaust system for a titanium one weighing only 2.4 kilos, the result is an incredible 400 horsepower that makes this Speed Triple a difficult motorcycle to ride on. straight line and that thanks to its fairing and carbon fiber rims, can boast of a true featherweight.

To solve this problem, Jody Millhouse had to significantly lengthen the rear swingarm (+18 cm.), creating a completely handcrafted aluminum piece that hides inside a five-liter methanol tank that is injected directly into the supercharger vacuum valve, thus avoiding the installation of an intercooler and its associated weight. In fact, the swingarm is the most expensive part of the whole bike, nothing more and nothing less than 14,000 pounds.

“I’ve worn something this powerful before, but never this light,” says its creator. “It has 400 hp to the crankshaft, but only weighs 187 kilos. The suspension is very high at the rear and very low at the front. Just accelerate a little and skid. You can go in sixth gear at 240 km/h and it will still drift, it’s crazy“.

Another detail that captures the attention of this Speed Triple 1200 RR is its active aerodynamics system; Thornton Hundred has created, using 3D printing, some spoilers installed in the front part that rotate depending on the movement of the motorcycle. When you brake, they increase resistance against the wind, and when you accelerate, they seek to increase the load on the front end to avoid the dreaded wheelie.

And not only that, because Jody Millhouse He has also put Artificial Intelligence on his diabolical creature; Called Artificial Thornton Hundred (THAI), this system allows the rider to interact with his bike through the bike to find out its status or even play rock-paper-scissors.

The bike equips a series of speakers installed in the tail and in the front that allow this Speed Triple to talk to its owner.
