The program of Matan Kahana and the Basketball Association for the Kippah-wearing public

by time news

The basketball association is currently working on a program that has one goal: to encourage the industry among the kippah wearers sector, believing that the sector has potential for success due to the large number of religious basketball fans. This is what Israel Hayom journalist Yaakov Meir published this morning (Sunday).

According to the report, last week the Minister of Religious Affairs, Matan Kahana, visited the union’s offices, and met with Chairman Amiram Halevi, CEO Yaakov Ben-Shoshan and the professional director of the Israeli national team, Pini Gershon. The meeting was also attended by the director of the Synagogue League, Raz Schreiber, who presented his recommendations on the subject. The purpose of the interesting meeting was to set goals and explore courses of action.

The full program to promote basketball in the religious community

Promoting the synagogue league, strengthening and branding it will be a significant boost to the industry in the religious sector, the union estimates. There are 12 synagogue leagues in Israel, with 10-12 teams participating in each league and each of them has between 100 and 200 players. It should be noted that the champions of the synagogue leagues qualify for the national league.

The proposal is to turn the Synagogue League into a league within the union. This will increase the age range and thus the league will naturally become more orderly and profitable. It was also reported that the possibility of establishing organized and organized community leagues for religious women is being examined. The possibility of establishing community leagues for youth was also discussed, including for the members of the religious pre-military preparatory schools.
