“The Entrepreneurship Journey” and “My First Job”

Prensa Libre will publish on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in August, in the central pages of the Buena Vida section, two new series aimed at basic and high school students, with topics of general interest.

The entrepreneurship journey

Aimed at anyone who intends to start a business and doesn’t know where to start. This series has the advice of Julio Zelaya, one of the most recognized advisors and entrepreneurs in Guatemala.

Through the publications, the aim is to show a map that guides the reader to discover its purpose and mission in the entrepreneurial journey.

The series is divided into four seasons, each of which represents a crucial milestone on this journey. Each theme will be addressed individually, but together a comprehensive compendium on entrepreneurship will be formed that will generate great interest and value for the young readers of Prensa Libre.

Tuesday 1 August. children’s dreams: begins the journey by immersing ourselves in the mind of our younger inner “selves”, in which dreams were endless and belief in the impossible was the norm. The audacity to dream big and the reunion of the flame of limitless possibility, which are the engine that fuels all entrepreneurial aspirations, will be remembered.
Tuesday August 8. I, SA: the second station of the journey. In it, readers will make an inventory of their talents and passions. It will make you see how it all fits together like a big puzzle, encouraging the reader to understand and value their individual skills and to discover how these skills could form the foundation of a successful venture.
Tuesday August 15. A problem to solve: is a guide to direct the reader towards their passions, talents and problem solving in the real world. In this stage is where the entrepreneurship begins, since a challenge is identified that is made possible with the skills and passions of the entrepreneur, who dedicates his efforts to solving it.
Mars August 22nd. All, SA: The last station of this journey will be about how entrepreneurship can have a broader impact, going beyond the individual (me), to affect the community (us) and finally society at large (everyone). We will explore how successful ventures create value not only for the entrepreneur, but also for communities and the world at large.

In this series of four sheets you will find the recommendations given by experts in recruitment, selection and hiring of personnel to young people who enter the world of work.

In the case of graduates there is a lot of uncertainty and ignorance. Therefore, on this occasion, Prensa Libre publishes a series of four sheets with the necessary and current information to look for a job.

Wednesday August 2. Job interview: advice on how to act, possible questions that are always asked and how to dress.
Wednesday August 9. Prepare your CV: ideas about resumes that are currently used, necessary data and tips to make it attractive.
Wednesday August 16. How and where to look for work?: suggestions for safe places to search, tips on precautions to take, and facts to be wary of sharing.
Wednesday August 23. Take advantage of social networks, use Linkedin: recommendations on how to take advantage of this network for contacts and highlight personal and professional skills.
