The verb coalescederived from the noun coalition, is a well-formed voice that has a certain use and that is included in some dictionaries with the meaning of ‘to link up, join in a coalition’. Another derivative is coalitionist, collected in the academic dictionary, which is used to refer to its members or supporters. Both are valid words, but to allude to the action, there are already others in Spanish with that sense, such as coalesce o coaligate.
