From the company Nutrientes, its manager Fabián Barceló together with the local Ministry of Production, informed Green Supplement of DIARIO DE CUYO that next Wednesday, August 2, there will be a new reception day for empty phytosanitary containers. The place where this activity will be carried out is the company Nutrientes, Caucete branch, located at Diagonal Sarmiento 64, province of San Juan.
As they explained, “phytosanitary products are a fundamental tool for agriculture since they serve to control crop pests and diseases, however, after this spraying their containers remain empty, which can cause damage to the environment if they are abandoned in the field, burned, buried or, in the worst case, reused in other tasks that can cause poisoning to people and even animals and autochthonous or local flora”.
To attend previously, as reported, “you must register to reserve a place, either through the contact provided for this purpose or through the cell phones indicated in the highlight of this note. It should be noted that those interested can bring these triple washed or washed containers to pressure, dry, without label and perforated”.
RECOVERY
This campaign seeks to recover them and give them a final destination that does not cause harm to health or the environment. This Program is framed in National Law 27,279, whose enforcement authority is the Directorate of Plant, Animal and Food Health of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Agroindustry under the Ministry of Production and Economic Development.
It is important to note that on this occasion the company Reciclados Plásticos SRL, Nutrientes, Campolimpio, Fundación Se Puede, Coviar, INTA, CDV Caucete and the Municipality of Caucete are accompanying this initiative.
Since 2011, initially together with the Program for Added Value and Comprehensive Assistance in Agrifood -Procal Cuyo- and together with the Argentine Chamber of Health and Fertilizers CASAFE-, the different managements of the production area, business chambers and Some municipalities in our province have advanced in different initiatives for the collection and recycling of this type of plastic packaging in order to avoid any type of contamination and comply with the requirements of the regulations on Good Agricultural Practices.
CAMPOLIMPIO
This CampoLimpio program is responsible for carrying out the Comprehensive Management System for Empty Phytosanitary Containers, under the provisions of Law 27,279. This system contemplates, not only the deployment of Temporary Storage Centers (CAT); also days for the reception of empty containers, the implementation of comprehensive logistics and the awareness of all the actors that participate in the life cycle of phytosanitary products. All of the above, with the aim of revaluing waste from the industry and using it to be reused in safe destinations.
NUMBERS
9 Millions of kilograms of containers have been collected since the beginning of the Campolimpio program.
1,9 Millions of kilograms of plastic containers have been collected by the program between January and June 2023.
