Kevin Costner’s Estranged Wife Christine Moves to Temporary Beachfront Property Owned by Actor’s in the Midst of Divorce

Christine Costner, wife of actor Kevin Costner, has recently moved out of their family home in Carpinteria, California. The move comes as part of their ongoing divorce proceedings, with the judge giving her a deadline of July 31 to vacate the property. However, Christine didn’t stray far, as she landed just minutes down the road in a second beachfront property owned by her soon-to-be ex-husband.

According to sources, Christine’s move to the temporary property is a means of staying close to the couple’s three children until she can find a permanent residence in the area. She is following legal advice per their prenuptial agreement, which stipulates that she vacate the property within 30 days of a divorce filing. The move is intended to minimize disruption in their children’s lives, allowing them to continue attending school with their friends and maintaining a sense of normalcy.

Kevin Costner, who is an Academy Award winner, owns an extensive real estate portfolio, which includes the family home they resided in before the divorce proceedings. The property, estimated to be worth at least $100 million, features several houses. As per their prenuptial agreement, Christine was required to vacate the property within a specified timeframe. However, it took a few months longer and a judge’s ruling for her to officially leave the residence.

The temporary property where Christine is staying is also owned by Kevin, who purchased it in 2006. The property boasts two small houses, a 500-foot private beach, equestrian facilities, and a baseball field. It was initially intended for the couple to build their dream home, but they ended up settling in at the family compound instead.

While the temporary property is smaller than their family home, it offers stunning views of the ocean. The main house on the property is an approximately 1,000-square-foot 1942 home, while Christine is staying in a more modern build further from the water.

As part of their divorce settlement, Kevin paid Christine over $1.2 million to use toward a new house. Additionally, he will cover the mortgage, taxes, and insurance for the first year once she finds a new residence. A judge also ruled that Christine will receive $129,000 per month in temporary child support to maintain the children’s accustomed lifestyle.

The ongoing divorce proceedings have seen some drama surrounding the division of assets, particularly regarding Christine’s request to remove personal items from the family home. While Kevin accused her of being vague in her requests, Christine clarified that her intentions were clear and that she had no plans to harm her soon-to-be ex-husband’s possessions.

The next step in their divorce is a case management conference on November 22, followed by a hearing on November 27 to determine the validity and enforceability of their prenuptial agreement.

Despite their impending divorce, the Costners recently spent time together with their children. They vacationed in Aspen, where Kevin owns another sprawling compound worth $250 million, and Christine took the kids to Hawaii, accompanied by a mutual friend.
