This is a nightmare for many users. Bank details refused, bank payments blocked… On Vinted, some sellers can no longer collect their money. For them, it is impossible to pay into their bank account the gain from the sale of their ready-to-wear items.

On social networks, users tell of the difficulty they have in filling in their bank details on their Vinted account. On the forum of the online clothing sales platform, others testify to their sometimes complicated exchanges with the technical department. All of them have been experiencing problems for a month to transfer the contents of their virtual wallet to their bank account.

“It’s been a month since I can’t get my money back,” says Lucas. When he tries to recover the sum he has won, 237 euros, the application displays this message: “Invalid bank account. Please check the information provided. He didn’t budge and called on the technical department several times. In one of the exchanges, he was told: “We are sorry for the inconvenience, but there is not much we can do. “Before advising him” to use another IBAN “. In other words, a second bank account.

“Invalid” account

Another user is also paying the price. Lindsay hasn’t been able to transfer her money “for nearly a month.” She also sees the notification telling her that her account is “invalid”, sends several messages via the application and by email. Answers? “Either they don’t follow up on my request, or they tell me it’s a technical problem and that they will solve it, or they tell me clearly that I have to use another IBAN…” According to him, the amount which should have landed on his account reached “almost 700 euros”. Since then, she has asked the platform to delete her bank details.

Same misadventure for Élodie. When she tries a transfer on July 14, the online thrift store tells her that her banking information is not correct. According to a message she would have received when contacting technical support, her interlocutor would mention “a temporary problem with the processing of payments and transfers”. Today, his situation is blocked and his 30 euros are still waiting on his virtual wallet.

Enhanced security

This problem would concern users who erase their bank details before re-registering them on their account, or those who have used this information on another Vinted account. Indeed, Lucas’ brother used his IBAN 4 months ago on an account before deleting it. These sellers, who are now disabled, are surprised to see their bank details retained. And are angry at the platform’s lack of response.

Difficulties resulting from a new reinforced security policy? Contacted by Le Parisien, the company explains: “We recently made some changes to strengthen the security of the platform. Although we cannot disclose further details, one of these changes is that an IBAN can only be added to one account at a time. Vinted also acknowledges that “for some members who had multiple accounts, or older accounts, this may have caused a problem.” In the meantime, these users are still discounting a solution.
