Basketball Tricolor returns to the courts and makes its debut in the Paulista Championship against Osasco, this Tuesday, 08/01, at 9 pm, at the Geodésico Gym, in the city of Osasco. The game will be broadcast on Band Sports.
In the first phase of the competition, all teams play against each other in a single turn. From first to fifth place, the qualifiers face each other, with reversed field command, to define the positions before the playoffs. The remaining teams will play one more time, with inverted command, to define who will be the last three qualified for the quarterfinals. Whoever passes the quarters plays the Final Four.
New additions to the squad include point guard Ricardo Fischer, formerly of Flamengo, and winger Dominique Coleman, formerly of Pinheiros. Other athletes from last season are still on the team: Coelho (guard), Corderro Bennett (wing), Betinho (wing), Lucas Siewert (pivot), Malcolm Miller (wing), Ansaloni (pivot), Tyrone (pivot), Thiago Ramos ( wing) and Igor Andrade (wing).
For the duel with Osasco, coach Bruno Mortari also listed Tiago (wing), Calleb Gonçalves (guard), Miguel (wing), Raul Risso (wing/pivot) and Ryan (pivot), all from the base.
Basketball Tricolor was Paulista champion in 2021 and runner-up in 2022. In addition to São Paulo, São José, Mogi, Corinthians, Araraquara, Bauru, Paulistano, Pinheiros, Franca and Osasco compete in the championship.
After the confrontation, Tricolor has an appointment with its fans in the next two games. The first will be against São José, Saturday, 05/08, at 16h, in Morumbi. Next, São Paulo will meet Mogi, on Wednesday, 09/08, at 7 pm, also at Ginásio do Morumbi.
